THE HEART GAME
Here’s a game my friends and I used to play whenever we felt homesick at boarding school: on a regular piece of paper, draw a heart about an inch tall and wide. Put funny little stick figure legs and arms on it – make it holding its arms up like it’s flexing its muscles, even! Put a happy face inside it, and label it with your name. Then….
Now think of someone you love and who you miss. Close your eyes and think of one or two things you’ve done with them, or said to them, and feel the feeling of love grow in your chest. Now open your eyes. Make a new little heart and label it with their name, and put it right next to the You Heart. Do more, until you feel more love than loneliness! Keep the piece of paper where you can pull it out anytime – do so when you want to see how many people you love and who love you back. Add to it as needed.

Seeing as most of you live elsewhere than within the US, instead of saying Happy Thanksgiving, I extend to you the feeling of gratitude and warmth that I feel from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head whenever I think of you all, and how you all found my sites and ended up on my mailing list.
