My wonderful VA, Susan, has signed me up on all kinds of Web 2.0 sites, insisting that I “get more out there.”

I’m still a bit shakey on the concept (especially twitter!), but I’ll give it a try anyway. If it will help spread EFT then I’m a happy gal.

I think one of the more important ones to grab onto and really develop, aside from Youtube if you’re into videos, and EzineArticles.com (links to great info at EA.com at bottom of this post) if you’re into writing, is SelfGrowth.com.

You can get a freebie page there, did you know that? Take your time and really stuff it full of good links, info, articles and freebies so people can find you, your work and other websites on it. Once you’ve done that, you can use the same info for your facebook, myspace and other sites.

The one site I can’t figure out is twitter–it’s like a mini-stalking site. When I hear that people were ‘following’ others my first thought about it was ‘get a life!’ Good grief. But then I heard it referred to as a mini-blog.

Mini is right! You get what, 140 or 160 characters to make a post? Still seems weird to me, altho I can see the benefits of mini-blog types of posts that link to your sites and other stuff you might be affiliated with.

I tried twitter for a couple days, adding stuff I was doing one at a time as I did them–I can’t think how bored people must be to follow anyone like that, and I certainly don’t have the time or any inclination to follow anyone else! I admit I don’t have much patience for sitting there reporting on myself all day.

WEIRD-STREAMING
But I did think about this: what if you wrote an entry in spurts and parts (or a poem or a limerick or a song or a weird whatever–a word puzzle, maybe) like this:

1 But I did think about this
2  what if you wrote a
3 poem or a limerick or a weird
4 whatever–a word puzzle, maybe
5 and wrote it like this
and so on

…and then, because the entries are listed with the most recent one at the top, you enter it last line first and so on until it gets posted. That way you make followers wait to see what the lines are going to be one at a time–maybe even with other free-posts in between.

So your posts might look like this:
carving for an hour or so until it gets dark
1 But I did think about this
emailing so and so (regular post)
on the phone with client (regular post)
2  what if you wrote a
answering invite to speak this sunday after EFT movie (regular post)
building new pdf for tuesday’s class bonus (regular post)
helping friend with a problem (regular post)
eating lunch (regular post)
3 poem or a limerick or a weird
found awesome website about … (regular post)
can’t think of anything right now (regular post)
4 whatever–a word puzzle, maybe
5 and wrote it like this

So people will have to follow your weird-stream by the clues you leave. You might start the sentences with a number, as I did, or maybe they’re in all caps, or there are a, b, c, etc. in front, or maybe a dot.

Anyway, I think I’m going to cancel my twitter account if I can’t see any real use to it. There are those who swear by it–marketer Pat O’Bryan got folks into his internet marketing seminar using twitter, but man, I should be looking at the thing all day? Don’t I have better things to do?

I’m going out to carve now–maybe I can finish this one and get ready to start the next….
