The real reason you do Discovery Sessions….
I was asked to help someone who was having trouble with the money part of signing people up after her Discovery Sessions. I bet no one has ever taught you these things.

I’ve been watching as my friend and good buddy Rehana Webster, who is a world-class expert at handling trauma she travels the world – lately to remote locations deep within the rugged mountains of Pakistan (see the photo below, where she navigates the rickety bridges over treacherous rivers!).
Rehana works with women who have had acid poured into their faces, who were raped, molested or abused, and even women who have been targeted to be killed in ‘honor’ killings.
Rehana uses her unique techniques for busting trauma to help them come back emotionally from such extreme trauma to reclaim their minds and emotions, and live better lives.
Why is this work so important?
Rehana told me that, in her experience, 90% of Pakistan’s population needs help with shock and trauma release. Imagine almost an entire country suffering shock and trauma. That’s serious business!
Fight, Flight or Freeze…
Have you ever noticed how someone who is upset can’t think straight until they get their nerves calmed down? There’s a very good reason for that. They’re in survival mode – Fight, Flight or Freeze.
We’re wired that way. Why? Because when you’re fleeing an enemy or attacker, what do you need to think about other than get safe, get safe, get safe? Our F-F-F mode kicks in so we can get to some kind of safety and survive even the most horrific experiences.
You’re not really safe yet…
But once a person gets to a safe place where she can breathe a sign of relief, the strangest thing happens: sometimes (most times) she can’t unwind by herself. She keeps freaking out, or having flashbacks, terrible dreams, or repetitive visions of what happened.
She may not be able to ‘get present,’ or may experience a level of extreme watchfulness for danger called hyper-vigilance.
Who do you know?
If you know any vets or women who have been brutally assaulted, or people who have gone through accidents, home invasion, domestic violence, rape, war experiences … you’ve seen trauma’s effects close at hand.
Trauma settles in the cells
Talk therapy is pretty useless – the trauma settles into the very cells of the body, and you can’t talk it out. Energy therapies like TBT (Trauma Buster Technique), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), etc. are the fastest way to eliminate the shock and trauma from the body.
(Get her Ebook, Trauma Buster Technique here,
or get it on Kindle here: Trauma Buster Technique: Effective, Safe, Rapid Treatment for Psychological Trauma
Have you ever had an experience of surprise, shock or trauma? It landed in your body, and is still there! Maybe you had years of teasing, or bullying, or neglect from your own parents, siblings or classmates.
You’ll want to listen in as Rehana and I discuss how to defuse trauma so you can get your mind, emotions and life back, and as she talks about her stripped-down, efficient-in-the-field version of EFT she calls the Trauma Buster Technique.
Click HERE or on the IDYR icon to the left to listen in to our shorty (30 minutes) interview.
Rehana Webster (Founder of TBT, EFT Master, NLP Master and AAMET Trainer of Trainers) used to work with the Correctional System in NZ, has trained over 200 doctors (!!!) in Pakistan to help their patients with TBT, and has been invited by very prestigious organizations like DOST Foundation and OXFAM to present workshops for the people they help in India and Pakistan.
All that sounds pretty formal, but she’s a kick-ass fun gal who loves to laugh as much as I do!
Here’s the amazingly courageous Rehana Webster as she takes time off from trekking deep into the wild mountains of Pakistan to help women (and men!) in need.
Having thought of myself as a renegade artist for so long, I never thought I’d be teaching anything – much less the subject of business or marketing – at any government agency.
So it was a real surprise when a friend of mine who is the course director at our local Honolulu Small Business Administration, called me and asked me if I’d like to give some classes there.
I thought, why the heck not?
There are people who really could use what I know! So I put together four possible classes they might want to run.
So you can see the various possibilities, here’s what I proposed:
- How to Reduce or Eliminate Stress
- How to Give Successful Teleclasses
- Play with Your Money for More Money to Play With
- Internet Marketing Made Easy: Are You Missing These 8 Essential Elements of Marketing?
They wanted the internet marketing one.
That was a surprise, but I didn’t mind.
Then I had to think, “who is my audience? Who will be coming, and how do I prepare my class for that group?”
Who’s the best niche to market your class to?
In your local SBA, I can almost guarantee you there will be at least one person who knows that women comprise 52+% of today’s business owners.
Women are the hot market to target.
Women are sick and tired of the push marketing model, and are naturals for pull, or attractor, marketing, AND not only know how to do it, but have had a major presence in the bazaars and marketplaces of the world for hundreds of years.
What will teaching at the SBA get you?
If you offer a course at the SBA, you won’t even believe what that will get you. They have hundreds of members who are in biz who read the monthly press release that goes out announcing the classes.
That exposure alone can increase your readership considerably if you give a website address that has an opt-in box on it with an attractive offer for people to go sign up on your list.
What do you know?
Do you know something most people do not?
Do you have a skill or talent you can share?
The credibility from having taught just one class there would be all you’d need to catapult you into a whole new sphere of influence!
What to do next
I suggest that you go down to your local SBA, if you have one, or a town near you, and see what’s up. If they have classes you can register for, take one and get to know the admin people, and make friends.
Then call them and mention that you have something they can use – and if they take it, you’re in!
All you need to do is put a five steps class together:
- 5 Steps to creating a domain name, 5 Steps to building a website,
- 5 Steps to writing compelling copy,
- 5 Steps to selling on Ebay,
- 5 Steps to marketing online,
- 5 Steps to marketing offline
…. or whatever your skills, knowledge or expertise is in.
Give your class a compelling name, propose it and then teach it.
Offer something that has to do with whatever you know how to do, and whatever you would feel comfortable showing a complete newbie how to do it.
Once you teach there for a few months, your name will get around as the one to go to for whatever you’re known as the expert at. People will start calling you and asking for services. So in addition to what you do online, you’ll also have a good local clientele.
Why would you want a local clientele?
Because you want to connect with and stay in touch with your local community; you don’t want your face in front of your computer screen all day anymore; and because it ain’t good for your bod to be sitting all day long.
If you like to share info, consider teaching at your local SBA.
I guarantee you that you know more about your subject than the “normal” person out there – and that makes you an expert to them! Try it!
Doing local classes strengthens your internet marketing expertise by improving your communication skills and self-confidence. You go!
One of California’s foremost stone sculptors, Patricia Bengston-Jones is a shining example of a Daring Dreamer – someone who doesn’t take Normal for one minute and who bucks the odds to live her Deepest Dreams. Not because of any rebellion, necessarily, but because it’s simply who she is and what she does.
She’s a powerful example of someone who really lives her passion, not alowing the numbing, everyday trance that surrounds us that says, “get a job, be norrrrmaallll…” overtake her!
Raw, mythical power
I was really taken with her work. I love the raw, mythical quality of it, and how she allows the stone to be stone, rather than trying to make something pretty-pretty out of it. It’s stone: heavy; plain; figured; textural; translucent; eternal; even humorous.
I love how her forms give you an inkling of a story, but not much more than will tickle your own frames of reference and put you on the beginning of a path to create your own stories from the images.
Time and Form
Here is one of the pieces I loved the most. Although these are all maritime themed, not all of her works are. Let’s Clean the Barnacles Off: made from Travertine and Slate, 10″ x 7″ x 20″
Here’s what she has to say on her site: PBengtson.com
“As a seeker of knowledge, with ten years of landscape and (color) field painting in 1972, I returned to finished my education, to find answers in my search of the ‘unknown’.
“This led me into sculpture and using concepts of the prehistoric monumental stone sites and myths. I visited England, Italy and Mexico, and lived in the Southwest.
I used the monolithic forms, arches and stacking or layering to denote the passage of time in my sculpture
“My endless search has helped to shed some light on the unexplained phenomena of my past cultures. It enables my sculpture to come together as a ‘Passage to My Heritage.’ ”
Make sure you visit her site for more mythical, powerful stone and glass work – especially check out that gateway she’s carving in the image above! See lots more of her works at her website, PBengtson.com.
When I was a child, I admired the fact that my mother was a professional artist.
She painted stark watercolor land and seascapes, inspired by the windswept beaches, watering holes and harbors up and down the New England coast that she and my dad sailed through.
She was often commissioned to do pastel portraits of our friends, neighbors and their kids. I remember going with her to the portrait sittings and playing with the siblings of the kids who were sitting. We were all bored, and made fun by creating our own portraits. That’s where it all began for me.
This is one of her watercolors of Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, where we lived.
I wasn’t such a huge fan of her portraits, but I loved how she could get across the idea of the glassy water of Bar Harbor, Maine using one swipe of her brush, or the freedom of a gull in the air with only a squiggle made perfectly, freely just-so. Because of her, I started drawing at age six, and never stopped.
I used to pore through her art history books, study her sketches, snitch any old art materials it looked like she’d abandoned, and practice on her scraps of paper.
I didn’t realize that at the time that they were painted, drawings and paintings were the only way that anyone could communicate what was happening to people in one part of the world to the people in another.
Instantaneous communication is so now ubiquitous – even back then in the 50s with our dial phones, radio and the beginnings of TV – that I thought it was just sheer perversity that anyone would want to paint such subjects.
I misunderstood the function of art before radio and TV. I didn’t get that Goya’s paintings and Daumier’s drawings were like newspapers today, conveying what was going on at the time.
If you look back at their amazing work: Francisco Goya (see here) and Honore Daumier (see here), could have unquestionably been Pulitzer prize reporters for their eras. Nonetheless, I was dismayed by their subject matter – most of which was far milder than what is “normal” to see in the media today.
Not for me
I decided that I’d never paint or carve anything so gruesome. I wanted to see color, light, delight, soul, depth, honesty, courage, beauty, inspiration, power, connection to the divine. I decided, too, that I had to go beyond just making art – I wanted to live my life artfully, as well – although I really didn’t know quite how to do that yet.
Over the years since those days, I have made a practice of just that: trying to live my life as artfully as I can. I’ve found that attempting to make each thing I do perfect leads to stagnation, boredom and huge anxiety (will it be good enough; can I do it?). Instead, I just slow myself down a fraction to be able to breathe in and out, look at what I’m doing or the person I’m with, then appreciate them as much as I can. When I do that, life seems to light up somehow.
Speeding through life
I’ve noticed that people who have a hard time don’t quite reach the levels of success they’d like, or the relationships or money they want. They are also the ones who forget to add beauty to their lives.
I have also noticed that these same people also have a tendency to speed through their lives as if they are being chased by some huge expectation … that they simultaneously believe they will never attain!
Speeding through life produces an inability to appreciate your surroundings, your relationships, yourself or what you do accomplish.
Without appreciation, how can you thrive?
You can’t – at least not as fully as you would, otherwise.
Think of the word “appreciation.”
The root word from which it is derived means “precious.”
To appreciate is to make precious, dear to your heart. Imagine if you stopped long enough during your day to appreciate your feet, and how they carry you all over the place. Even though you give them so little attention, there they are doing your work.
- What could you do for your feet today that would make them (and you!) feel delicious?
- What could you do for your friend today that would help him or her feel great?
- What can you do as best you can that would make you feel like you accomplished something today?
That’s living artfully.
Think of your kitchen. It’s where all the food in your life comes in, gets stored, cleaned, and prepared for your life fuel. How much do you appreciate your kitchen? What would it take to stand in the middle of that kitchen and look around, radiating appreciation to the counter tops, the sink, the fridge, the floor? Not much!
Try it and see how that feels.
Then do it with other places in your house. You’ll notice that there will be places you’ll want to clean up a bit, maybe move some furniture around, open windows. Don’t be so anxious to do it right away, though.
Give the room your love first, and ask yourself, if I were to really love myself, and live artfully, appreciating and doing everything the best I could, how would I like this room to be?
Make mental notes as you go through your day as to what you could slow down, take a breath in and out, and appreciate. Then do it. Doesn’t have to take long at all!
Make mental notes about what you’d like to change in your house, your behavior, your relationships, your business. Make changes gradually, and celebrate them and how those changes make you feel.
Note and appreciate the people, things, and places that you want to honor for having stood by you for a long time. Even take a second to write a line of appreciation on a card and send it off to one of those people.
THAT is living artfully: create your life on purpose, in beauty and appreciation.
I know you can do it, and that the more you do, the better you’ll feel. And the better you feel, the better your life will be, day by day by day.
Rupa Marya: Respected Doctor, accomplished Musician, is such an inspiration to those of us who are not strictly right or left brain oriented. She’s the perfect embodiment of the idea that left informs right, right enhances left. She juggles two seemingly disparate careers – and thrives doing it!
In short, she decided to go for her doctorate, but couldn’t stay away from music. She decided to do both–and kept each side secret from the other! As I searched for other viable news reports about her, I found these two articles below. I hope you enjoy reading about her!
From ABC news: (Read the whole thing HERE)
“Rupa Marya grew up seriously thinking she would become a doctor. She also wanted to be a singer, it was what her parents – immigrants from India wanted for her as well. Her heart was also in music so she felt pressure to choose between medicine or music.”
From Boston: (Read the whole thing HERE)
She says, “”Watching this country become more fearful and journalists becoming the mouthpiece of the administration, I became so angry,” says Marya, on the phone from Sweden. She performs with the April Fishes Tuesday at Johnny D’s as part of a North American tour that includes the Montreal Jazz Festival and Quebec City’s Festival d’Été.
“I couldn’t pick up my guitar,” Marya says. “It was too painful. But then I started to think about what would it be like to create music that reflected what I wanted to see in the world, to give a voice to the things that weren’t getting any airtime. I started with an assignment to write 10 songs about love, compassion, and uncertainty in a time of love across borders.
“How we convey information to one another is something that’s very interesting to me,” Marya says. “As a doctor, there are so many ways you can miscommunicate, and it’s always a challenge. How do you tell somebody they’re dying? How do you tell an audience that people in their neighborhood are living with so much fear of being deported that they don’t seek proper medical help? It’s like the riddle of my life, and I explore it several different ways, through music, and through these kinds of investigations.”
Have you ever been told to hush up?
Or told to lighten up?
Or maybe someone said to you: “get a thicker skin,” or “you’re too sensitive!”
Or, “Get serious!”
And did you end up trying to be some way that was completely not ‘you’ in an attempt to be loved or more acceptable?
I have. I’ve been shushed, told not to laugh (right!) and in particular, not to laugh so loud. And, “You’re too much!” If I had a dollar for each time I’ve heard that I’d never have to work another day in my life.
I simply, naturally, as part of my energy make-up, have lots of ‘swift,’ substantial, powerful energy. It comes with Angela Treat Lyon territory.
Maybe I ‘should’…
But I used to think that, in order to be more acceptable, I ‘should’ be more quiet, speak more softly, walk more gracefully–that there was something wrong with me.
Ha! There certainly wasn’t! Yes, of course I’m OK with me now, but I sure didn’t used to be. And I used to compensate for what I thought of as my blunders and gaffs by trying not being my natural self. I ended up trying to be an ideal that just didn’t fit me, and I felt like a fraud, unaccepted and really, really angry. I was living a lie, and I was afraid to live my truth.
At last, more understanding!
This week, I finally availed myself of Carol Tuttle’s Online Energy Profiling system. I wish now I had gotten it before when I first heard of it. She really hits home when she says that the very thing you don’t like about yourself or that you’ve been criticized for may be your greatest gift–even your mission!
I am really impressed with the clarity and quality of Carol’s site, the videos and Carol’s delivery. BUT–most of all, Carol’s knowledge and ability to deliver it in a soft, yet incisive way, while simultaneously weaving in pointed stories about herself and her own family and how profound this information has been for her, had me riveted.
I am so impressed. I’m not a sit-down-and-watch-videos-for-hours person, but I sat in this very seat and spent three+ hours watching each online video segment, beginning to end. They were that good. No, they were astounding.
No hype, no this-is-how-it-is, no you-must-do-this or thats–just clear information that makes things understandable. So simple–yet complex and deep; interwoven so neatly. It was such a pleasure to listen, watch and soak in every word she said. I even watched a couple of the segments more than once–unheard of for me–I’m a watch-once-and-that’s-it person.
Don’t want to wait? Use THIS LINK!
Why is this system so profound?
See what you have to say to these phrases and questions:
Have you ever been told:
You’re too much!
Get a spine!
Don’t be so loud!
You don’t need to be a perfectionist!
You’re too sensitive!
Or been asked:
Why do you always have to be the life of the party?
Why do your legs bounce like that–are you going somewhere?
Who the heck cares about your family tree, anyway?
How can you sit there without moving an inch?
I bet you didn’t know how to respond.
Other than collapsing into I-can’t-be-me, or feeling angry and rebellious that you’re not OK the way you are, or just ignoring the hurt.
But if you were familiar with the four types of energy, you’d know that each one of those questions and statements fits one particular profile. And if someone said one of those things to you, you’d know how to respond!
Here’s the thing
If you have been told that you’re the life of the party, did you know that you have an important mission? Don’t let people misread you anymore–you do have value, just the way you are. Could you imagine Goldie Hawn trying to be serious? Wrong!
And doesn’t it get old being told you’re too sensitive, get a thick skin?
Did you know there’s a purpose for your sensitivity and you’re just as valuable and precious as anyone else? And did you know that highly sensitive people are in the forefront of thought and design in the world?
I was able to use Carol’s energy type information this week with a client when I realized that I was using words that fit my own energy style rather than hers, and she was blocking them like a wall. When I started using words that fit her energetic style, she opened up immediately. This is way beyond NLP!
Are you curious?
I want you to imagine how you’d like your relationships to improve–whether with family, friends, clients, co-workers or complete strangers. They will once you understand the energy types better.
You’ll find out what mission 1s have in the world, why 4s like to wear black, why 2s are so obsessed with past and future, and why us 3s are so bold!
Carol shares some poignant anecdotes about herself, her husband and her kids–how their lives improved and how much more they understand and appreciate each other now that they get what their energy configurations are.
I wish I’d had this understanding right from the start–what a difference it would have made–maybe my family and I wouldn’t have had the ultimate dysfunctional experience! We all could have lived our truthful beingnesses.
I strongly recommend Carol’s Online Energy Profiling system.

Maybe you didn’t know that women control:
52% of businesses in the US!
70% of the spendable income!
Might want to update your thinking about women! Check out this article: Women in History, for more info and a good laugh of enjoyment at the amazing things we women have done!
Here are just a few:
Silver Screen superstar Hedy Lamarr (Hedwig Kiesler Markey) with the help of composer George Antheil invented a secret communication system in an effort to help the allies defeat the Germans in World War II.
The invention, patented in 1941, manipulated radio frequencies between transmission and reception to develop an unbreakable code so that top-secret messages could not be intercepted.
A unique safety elevator was invented by multi-patent holder Harriet Tracy; and an important device for the lifting and transporting of non-ambulant invalids was invented by Sarah Sands.
I get notes all the time from folks with questions about how to use EFT, or MTT, as many are calling it now, or just plain tapping. I’ll refer to it as tapping from now on.
And no, we’re not talking about tap dancing! Gotta have a little fun now and then, yes?
This week someone asked me what to do if you don’t seem to be getting results tapping.
Here are just a few aspects to this question that can help you resolve the dilemma.
A. What is it you don’t like?
First, identify what’s going on that you don’t like. Like, I lost my job, my husband’s having an affair, I feel ugly, I can’t make enough (or any!) money as an enterpreneur.
Those are all what I call umbrella issues that are too broad to tap on and get good results without looking at some details.
B. Where do you feel it?
What I want you to do is duck under the umbrella and pick out the places where you feel ughy. Like, it felt awful to be yelled at when I was fired. I hated myself when I shouted at my kid. I feel so anxious about marketing my business.
C. Name it
Zero down a bit more, and name how you felt – I was so ticked off, I was so ashamed, I felt so humiliated.
D. What’s your body doing?
Now, how did you *know* you felt that way? Did you blush to your hair-roots? Were you clenching your fists, did your heart feel like it was going to blast our of your chest, did you stop breathing? Pin it down so you know some exact symptoms.
E. Rate it
Then, rate how intense those symptoms, or feelings, are, with 0 being the least and 10 the most. WRITE it down, because you’ll be amazed to see your rating after you’ve tapped, and may not even believe you had anything going on at all in the first place!
Now you have solid, identifiable things upon which to tap: even though my heart felt like it was bursting when he yelled at me…I didn’t want to cry so my chest felt tight and I couldn’t breathe….
If you have never tapped before, go to: EFTinEveryHome.com and see what I’m talking about. You get a freebie run-through mini session right there so you can get a taste of tapping.
Tell everyone you know about the site, too – I want to see every last person on the planet have this incredible key to emotional sanity.
If you’re a practitioenr, send your new clients there to check it out before their first session with you – it will save you tremendous time having to explain the points, how it works, etc.
Fa. Then be sure to say you accept yourself. If you can’t say that without your mind balking, tap on even though I can’t accept myself until you can say it and be pleased by saying it. Then continue the original session.
Fb. If you are one of those people who can’t seem to feel, then use the word *think* – what did you think when he yelled at you? What do you think about being a home business owner? Many times that will help get the right words. It helps guys a lot, and people who tend to be more mental or academic.
It’s in the details.
If you don’t know how you feel, look to where your body hurts or has tension. If you don’t know how your body feels, look to memories, what people said to you, what you think about something. Get the details. You’ll be able to get real results using these hints. Get the details. Get the details.
And remember: it’s all energy.
No matter what’s going on, it’s just energy, and you can tap it into being useful, productive and creative even if it *looks* disruptive, limiting and deadly right now. It’s just energy. Choose creativity!
Hope that helps.
I hear people say they have such a hard time staying on track–or even imagining their dreams–much less creating them, in today’s economic and political chaos.
Do you get caught there, too?
I say it’s all a big dream anyway, why not make it the way you want it to be?
I mean, why the heck not??
See, what you are perceiving as ‘the environment’ and ‘your life’ is really a package of eye-ear-nose-mouth-skin-mind-energy-felt results of your past decisions.
Your house is the place in which, in the past, you decided to live. That’s a result of your thoughts, words and actions.
Your relationships are the result of the decisions and actions you made in the past.
Your success or lack of it is a result of decisions made in the past.
One decision, many steps
Do I need to go on? I don’t think so. But why is this important? Because in one decision, it can all be changed. And you can keep changing it.
One client reported to me last night that she had made the decision to stop listening to a friend’s negativity, because she felt like it pulled her down and away from her own inspired thoughts and activities.
She decided to just believe in herself and be as positive as she could, and tap on what wasn’t working until it did..
As a direct result of her new empowered vibration, she ended up with new signups to her weekend workshop, three new clients, and any number of other little pieces of evidence of her decision’s effectiveness.
She changed her present to affect what is now her past, and to create a future she loves.

You probably saw the big hoo-ha when Susan Boyle, the power-voiced gal who made such a hit on the Britain’s Got Talent show, came on stage.
The judges and people in the audience made faces, raised their eyebrows and had clear disappointment and doubts that she could be any good.
Shame on them!
Frankly, I felt embarrassed for the judges and the people in the audience who were so quick to judge Susan Boyle on her looks – she certainly doesn’t have a thing to do with skinny legs, belly-button rings or silky-sexy clothes!
The sheer arrogance of both audience and judges wa astounding – like someone who isn’t dressed in designer clothing can’t possibly have anything to contribute, oh no! Good grief. Where have we come in our supposed culture that we reserve talent for the Pretties?!?
The second she opens her mouth in song, it’s as if a tsunami of energy swamps the hall – within seconds people are on their feet crying, laughing, clapping, yelling in joy and full of the same enormous spirit Susan is radiating. And they keep clapping and shouting for her until after the song is done! Every time I watch it I feel full of the magic and tears and the sheer authenticity of the woman.
There are those who say the staging and setup are all hype; who say she hasn’t got what it takes to go beyond her ’15 minutes of fame;’ that she needs to get ‘with it’ with her clothes and media-presence.
Why? What’s wrong with her the way she is?
Why do we insist that people fit in to our narrow ideals so WE can be comfortable?!? I think she’s more savvy and honest and grounded than the next person, and knows in her heart far better what to do than the flight of pretties who come and go every year.
Susan’s birth was apparently a hard one, with resulting oxygen deprivation and minor brain damage. Perhaps that’s what has kept this golden canary in the shadow so long, not flitting out of the nest as soon as she knew she had a voice that could thrill.
I hope she has all kinds of people around her who can steady her hand amidst the glitz and glimmer and onslaught of media, because if she can sing like she did on that stage, I want to hear more. She has the posture and presence of an opera singer, and belts her song out from the very center of her heart – who could ask for more?
Frumpy? Or distinct?
Who cares if her eyebrows are thick and powerful? Who cares if her dress is 50s and she walks like an excited five-year old? I think she looked like the embodiment of Heart. Who needs another skimpily-S&M-dressed Madonna or Britney? I say keep those eyebrows!
One report called her a ‘frumpy spinster’ – critics and reviewers somehow feel they have the unalienable right to cut people and their works down in razor-thin slivers. Does it make them feel better to be so denigrating and nasty? If those same people calling her those names were on the stage, I can assure you they’d feel crushed by such comments.
This was a great example of how, when we let our judgments and prejudices and cultural beliefs cloud our eyes, we can be shaken out of our trees in a split second. What a fabulous surprise Susan Boyle is! We should be so lucky as to have her in our lifetime!
No more cynicism!
No more arrogance!
No more judging books by covers!
Yes more asking for and claiming your Dreams – go Susan!

Today’s economy is freaking people out, no bones about it. Here are a few of items you may find interesting. I decided to look up the definition of the word, ‘economy’.
Before I list the ones I thought were most clear, I suggest that you stop a second and see what the word ‘economy’ brings up for you.
What do ‘money’ or ‘economy’ mean?
When I put that question to myself, I thought immediately about how we operate on a fiat currency system, rather than one backed by gold or some physical substance of perceived value.
I also thought about how a fiat economy, by definition, always historically collapses within a specific period of time; and how over the last 90 years this system was introduced and implemented by people who were so saturated with greed that their own self-aggrandizement came before the lives of everyone else.
I also thought about how so many important public programs and institutions are being cut back and even eliminated. None of what is going on today makes sense to me if we are to carry on creating fulfilling lives.
Now, here are some of the definitions I found:
1. The system by which money, industry and trade are organized
2. The system of production, distribution and consumption
3. Efficient use of resources
4. Effective management
5. A system of allocating resources based only on the interaction of market forces, supply and demand
6. A true market economy is free of governmental influence, collusion and other external influences.
My question is this
If we cannot do anything immediately effective to change the way our commerce and currency are set up, what CAN we do?
What to do?
There are several things we can each do to create a new relationship with the world and the economy, no matter what is going on outside of ourselves.
1. Realize that every thought, feeling, belief and action you generate and act upon determines your reality. Take deeper responsibility.
Use energy practices to even out old self-worth issues that keep you shy, angry, sad, depressed, etc.
You may think you, your energy and your life are inconsequential in the Big Scheme of Things, but that is utterly untrue.
Your energy is needed right now right here in order to help dream up, create and nurture a new, clean paradigm.
Energies are shifting so fast and so intensely that it’s easy to get caught up in the density – don’t allow it. If you have to use EFT (the Emotional Freedom Techniques) all day long, do so. This is not a dress rehearsal.
2. Remember that we participate in this economy, even if we don’t like it.
So every one of us needs to be conscious of how we literally vote with our dollars. And I know you know what I mean by that. Use each dollar as if it was a ballot cast in the voting box. It will make a huge difference in how you use your funds, and will produce results that will surprise and please you.
3. Stop complaining and ask what you can do differently in your own life, whether tiny or huge, to create the shifts in your life that would make it better. Then make a pact with yourself to DO those little shifts. DO those big things. Do it, and see how cool it is to feel like, “Hey! I made a difference in my own life!”
4. Get rid of excesses and distractions. Really ask yourself at a deep level what it is you value and if you really want to keep spending time and energy on things that only have half or minimal value to you. Just stop doing them. They waste your life energy. Concentrate on what helps you bring yourself internal pleasure and even a soul-thrill.
5. Tap. If you have no clue what I’m talking about, get FREEbie info at EFTinEveryHome.com.
Tap all day, as I said. Don’t let your emotions or thoughts be either totally numb or overpowering you. Tap on feelings of anger, fear, sadness, grief, shame, impatience, helplessness and powerlessness.
Tap on thoughts of blame, shame, complain, vengeance, retaliation, disappointment, terr-or, disgust, dismay, self-sabotage, not-good-enough, etc.
Keep tapping until you can come to a place of inner peace, even if it’s a tiny bit at a time. How can we say we want peace if we can’t even create it in our own minds and bodies first? The journey starts within – always.
6. Remember that you are part of life’s Great Circle, and that you are no less than and no more than any other creature in the universe. You are valued and honored, and your contributions, life energy and individual spark are part of that which keeps us all on fire and alive.
I want to publicly acknowledge how incredible Helena Summer Medena was when I had to spend time in the hospital for surgery. Yes, she is my friend, but she is also a determined ally in the face of stress or hurt.
She sacrificed a huge amount of her time last week to visit me, hold my hand and be my verbal advocate while I was too doped up to know up from down.
The night she brought me in, she stayed with me until I was finally admitted to the hospital at 3 a.m. – even though her ride had long gone and she had to find another to get home!
She also helped me tap (even though I was so sensitive I’d pull my hand away!), and is one of the finest EFT leaders I’ve met.
I want to suggest to you that she would be as good an ally for you in whatever it is you’d like to move through in your quest to live a more healthy, peaceful and abundant life, and that if you want her services, she is well worth way more than her nominal fees.
I asked her what she does when she speaks with a new client, and here is part of her reply:
“We talk a little, I give them 30 minutes of conditional consult, and then we schedule a minimum 3 sessions.
“Brand new online? I introduce them to skype and see if that would work or phone… tell them about what to expect….
“With all of them I make sure that I am interested in them, that I feel like we are a good match and that we can achieve what they want.
“I tell them all that EFT is not magic, but super powerful… I make sure they feel heard and we go with scheduling.
When she says she “makes sure she is interested,” I can tell you from personal experience that she puts her all into it.
She has no idea I’m doing this, so no, this is not a concerted publicity campaign. She’ll probably cry when she reads this –
Please do consider availing yourself of her considerable love, care and talented intuition and gifts using EFT and other energy modalities. You can check her out, as I’m sure you probably know by now, at LivDelicious.com.
much love and aloha to you,
Why not go out on a limb? That’s where all the fruit is.
In this day and age where it seems that everything hangs in suspense–a new US president, a supposedly failing economy, stocks tanking–why not be outrageous and actually go for your dreams?
What’s holding you back?
What would happen if you actually (gasp!) DID create the dream you have deep in your heart? What if, instead of doing what you think you’re supposed to do, you act from your Deep Heart and step towards your Dream?
OMIGOD–you might be happy! You might achieve success and have more money! You might be able to help even more people than you serve right now! Can you handle it? What will you do with all that money and success and new space? Who will you be? How will you behave? Good questions–might want to ponder on that so you can actually make it come true!
Here’s the important thing
It’s not about “how can I survive” these days at all. Because these days will continue whether you make it or not, and days will continue to go up and down in relative ‘goodness’ and ‘badness’ no matter what you or I or the lampost do.
It’s about keeping your focus
on your inner directive.
That Singular Reason you do what you do, be who you are. Keep your eye on that, keep your heart open and your actions aligned with that.
Do that, always asking yourself, ‘what is one small thing I can do to keep creating my dream?” Even if only taking a little bitty breath is all you can do right now. More space will open for you as you continue to breathe, re-connect, breathe, take action, and so on.
I send you love, support and strength!
One of my favorite websites is InspireMeToday.com.
If you are a coach, healer, energy practitioner or therapist, a teacher, speaker, author or artist, or work in some way to inspire and encourage people to live and do their best, I want to invite and encourage YOU to sign up to be a Luminary on the site right away. It’s run by an amazingly dynamic woman named Gail Goodwin.
She’s a shining example of a Daring Dreamer.
She literally awoke one morning with a song in her head. She and her daughter, who is a singer, and who arranged the song for her band to perform, have taken that song–and themselves and the band–across the world to entertain our troops.
The stories she heard about how those guys survive the tough time out in the warzones inspired her so much that she set up InspireMeToday.com so they could have an inspiring story, a video they can watch, and a short and a long MP3 they can listen to on their iPods or MP3 players every day. Anyone can listen to and get inspiration from these stories and inspirational messages.
I was so fortunate to be one of the first Luminaries on her site. I highly encourage you to go to InspireMeToday.com, sign up, create your audios and even a video if you want, and submit them. You get to be a Good Guy and inspire people, and you get free exposure for yourself and your biz. What more could you want?!?
Oh yes–please do tell Gail I sent you–I like her to know I’m still out here rooting for her. Thanks! You’ll find the inspiring interview I did with her here.
You’ve probably seen many membership sites and one-month ‘free’ trial on websites. They’re a great idea – but I invite you to please be careful.
Some one-month ‘free’ trials don’t have end-of-trial notifications, and if you’ve forgotten you signed up, it can be a big surprise to get their charge on your card at the end of the trial time.
Here’s what I’ve learned to do:
I’m really choosy now as to what I sign up for! If I do decide to do the trial, I write on a sticky note the site name, my info (username and password), and the date I signed up for the trial membership.
If I have doubts as to whether I’m going to stay, I make a reminder to check with myself by a certain date so I can unsubscribe if I want to before I get charged.
If I know I’m going to stay, I add the site to my list of monthly payments that I make so it won’t be a surprise when my card gets charged.
If it’s a site where you could possibly enter all kinds of info and data, you may not want to put time and data into it so you don’t want to leave when the time the trial month is up.
Just wait! You’ve lived without the site until now–it’s OK to live without it until you make a final decision. Don’t put your data and info on it yet until you’re sure.
I’m talking about shopping cart sites, autoresponder sites, affiliate sites, web 2.0 sites–they know darn well if you start populating all the info fields with your data you’re not likely to leave.
Do your research first.
Avoid entering your email address or any of your personal info before you see if it’s the one you feel best about sticking with on a permanent basis.
If it’s a site where you get a lot for your money, and you feel good about the people who run it, and the integrity and quality of what you get, then don’t hesitate!
p.s. THE RIGHT SIGN: Maybe you’ve seen this video already, but I think it’s lovely. (And it’s a great example of what happens when you have the right marketing message!)
I remember when my little brother was very little, he was a merry little guy, and he used to go out into the day with a song on his lips.
He was always humming or singing, and later on, playing his guitar. Now as an adult, he has his own band. It was so great growing up next to such a vibrant, happy individual.
It was like that for expert Voice Trainer Dianne Legro, too – always singing, humming, listening to nature, bringing her songs with herself wherever she went as a child. She sang so much that she ended up singing (with her “large voice”) at her church at age 6, and was a full-on member of the acting community at the tender age of 12.
I invite you to listen in as Dianne and I talk about all the inspiring, daring things she has done, what that took for her, and the amazing support she got (like, from noen other than Mary Rockefeller!), and how she fell naturally right into coaching people for becoming great speakers with sensational careers.
She doesn’t do just voice training–not this gal! She includes body, content, booking *and* marketing training–the whole package, so you can be a great speaker and be booked everywhere.
Click HERE or on the logo to the left to get my interview of the powerful, amazing, intuitive, inspiring, highly talented and gifted speaker, opera singer and professional speakers’ coach, Dianne LeGro.

Here’s a quote that I loved from a book I read this week about people in the future called “Yanked Out of Time.”
Think about it this way…
I invite you to read the quote as you think about the way you create your own reality.
“Grit isn’t fearlessness… And it isn’t insisting other people do what you want. Grit is finding other ways to get something done even when people refuse to cooperate with you.
“It isn’t pushing other people around. Instead, it’s not giving up, even if you have to try twenty-eight different plans before one works. It’s persistence in the face of fear.”
– Nancy Kress & David Brin, “Yanked Out of Time”
Creating your reality has four elements:
- know what you want,
- know you can have it,
- take whatever action required to receive it (including clearing old non-supporting beliefs, habits and emotions), AND
- persist in the focusing, expecting, acting, navigating–until it does come.
Why? Because what you want doesn’t always appear instantaneously or even overnight. It takes a certain level of something we call grit!
Do you have the grit required to create your own Dreams? I bet you do, because you’re a Daring Dreamer, too!
Yanked Out of Time
“In the twenty-fourth century…when mysterious aliens nicknamed Givers came and gave humanity the ability to reach the stars with transporters, humans were no longer prepared to face the dangers of a new frontier. As special problems arise, they search through time for special individuals with “grit” and bring them forward to help out.”

Nancy Kress is the author of fourteen books of fantasy and science fiction, including both novels and short-story collections.
David Brin has written or contributed to a dozen works of fiction and science fiction, has a Ph.D. in astrophysics, and has been a professor and a NASA consultant.
It’s an amazing thing to have thousands of people read your emails weekly.
It used to frighten me at first, because my mailing list grew so fast, and I had never written to more than one person at a time before. I was so afraid I’d put people off.
But as I went along, I got more and more comfortable, because I shifted from, “Oh no, what if I blow it, what will they think about what I say,” and a whole slew of other fears. I was afraid of what you, the people on my list, thought of me, my work and what I had to say.
How do you sit down and write thousands of people?
People ask me all the time:
- Isn’t it hard?
- How do you keep from feeling overwhelmed?
- How do you know what to write?
I was speaking about this the other day with a friend who also has a large mailing list. We were laughing about how hard it was at first to write these newsletters until we started thinking about it differently.
I told her how I think about my readers and carry them all around with me wherever I go, and she laughed and said, yeah, I do that, too.
Do you care? Really care?
After a couple months of writing my list, I realized how much I really do care about my readers, and how passionate I am about what I do and believe in, and about wanting you to have the very best of anything I can create or make available to you.
I started seeing that, if I didn’t believe in myself
or my work, my readers certainly wouldn’t!
So I asked myself this: if I was Jack Canfield or Oprah or one of those “out-there” people who are so passionate about what they do, what would I write and say?
What results would I want my readers to have?
How could I write about it all so my readers would really get what I was saying and get the Goods from my products and services?
As soon as I started writing from that frame of mind, I felt such relief, because I understood that you wouldn’t have signed up for the newsletter if you weren’t attracted to *something* about what you see on my sites.
And I saw that the ones who unsubscribe are not criticizing or mad, they’re just not interested anymore, or feel overwhelmed, and my stuff is low on their priority lists. It’s OK. I stopped taking it personally, and started to get really excited about writing every week about what is important to me with people to who appreciate and get great benefits from it, too.
I take about an hour every day to cruise online, looking for things that tweak my oh-this-is-cool buttons. Stuff from TED.com, funny stuff, stuff from folks who have great programs or ingenious or innovative energy therapies or consciousness-raising ideas and solutions.
And I take the best of those and share them with you. It used to feel like work, long ago. But now it’s fun and I look forward to writing you, because I’m passionate about what I do.
The results I see people get from using the info I share is well worth the time it takes, and I get tremendous pleasure from carrying you around in my heart!
Are you just starting up?
So if you are writing or starting up a newsletter and you don’t know where to begin, start with what you love, what you are passionate about.
Tell your readers a little story like I just did–doesn’t have to be a long, drawn-out thing–and let them know who YOU are. We all crave connection, so give it to us who read you–don’t just tell us you have this or that to sell, week after week, because then it feels like all we are to you is a possible income source.
We want to know about you, what you think, and how your heart feels. Write from there, and your aligned readers will love you and your products and services. Anyone else will unsubscribe, and that’s OK!
Share yourself and your best offers!
Show us that you really understand and care about your readers!
We will then feel that, and respond accordingly.
p.s. Make sure you check out the EFT Grab Bags–the first one is only a buck! Highly concentrated, intensely powerful audios and ebooks in each Bag. When you start with #1 and move through each one, you get exactly what you need at each stage to get you to the next step.
p.p.s. Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments about my audios and article on InspireMeToday.com! It was such a honor to be invited to be one of their Luminaries! Here it is if you missed it–just put my name in the search box.
The Night of Terror, and how it helped women attain the right to vote.
Lucy Burns (inset) was an American suffragette. After protesting in D.C., she was arrested and sent to a workhouse. To break her and the other women’s spirits, the jailers began what has become known as the “Night of Terror.”
Lucy Burns was beaten and handcuffed to her cell door with her hands above her head and left that way for the entire night. Of all the American Suffragists, Lucy Burns spent the most time in jail.
Have you read this by Karen Hawk?
Maybe you’ve seen this article by Karen Hawk, but I think it’s worth a repeat.
“The women were innocent and defenseless. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs and their warden’s blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of “obstructing sidewalk traffic.”
They beat Lucy Burn, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold.
Her cellmate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.
Thus unfolded the “Night of Terror” on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson’s White House for the right to vote.
So, refresh my memory. Some women won’t vote this year because–why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn’t matter? It’s raining?
For weeks, the women’s only water came from an open pail. Their food–all of it colorless slop–was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.
Last week, I went to a sparsely attended screening of HBO’s new movie “Iron Jawed Angels.” It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that I could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have my say. I am ashamed to say I needed the reminder.
All these years later, voter registration is still my passion. But the actual act of voting had become less personal for me, more rote. Frankly, voting often felt more like an obligation than a privilege. Sometimes it was inconvenient.
My friend Wendy, who is my age and studied women’s history, saw the HBO movie, too. When she stopped by my desk to talk about it, she looked angry.
She was – with herself. “One thought kept coming back to me as I watched that movie,” she said. “What would those women think of the way I use–or don’t use–my right to vote? All of us take it for granted now, not just younger women, but those of us who did seek to learn.”
The right to vote, she said, had become valuable to her “all over again.” HBO will run the movie periodically before releasing it on video and DVD.
I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum. I want it shown on Bunko night, too, and anywhere else women gather. I realize this isn’t our usual idea of socializing, but we are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order.
It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse.
Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn’t make her crazy. The doctor admonished the men: “Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.”
Here’s to our right to vote!

Do you have the same things happening to you? Isn’t it just a night-ruiner when those leg cramps hit?
Here are some tips I’ve learned…
These will help you right away if you follow them closely. Your results will vary according to how long you have been using them, and how closely you adhere to them.
They are not hard, but your habits may try to force you back into them – don’t allow your old habits to sabotage you.
Your job will be to keep watch on yourself and asking WHY you keep going back. When there is no good reason to go back, say NO! Then get back on track with your intention to create more health, comfort and ease in your life by controlling what you put in your mouth. You’re the captain of your body-ship – don’t allow old habits to control you!
1. LESS SUGAR, MORE ENERGY
Here’s the secret to less getting up at night to go to the bathroom: stop eating all white sugar products after 4pm. No candy, cake, cookies, sweeties, pastries, desserts. Period. None. (You can have half an apple if you balance it out with some cheese, meat or some other protein.)
Why? Because sugar short circuits your body’s energy system. You’ll notice that right after eating it, you get an inflated sense of well-being, increased energy and ability to power forward. But in a very short time, suddenly you feel more tired, more irritable, more unable to think straight or get things done. Then you go for more sugar, and off the cycle goes again.
This is called eat and crash!
Down the line, it messes up your kidneys and your ability to even want or to metabolize “good” foods. You get up more at night, you have bad dreams, you can’t sleep, tossing and turning and drifting off, only to jolt awake again. Leg cramps get you after a couple of hours in bad, or if you have it bad, the second you lie down and try to relax.
Leg cramps will go right away if you drink a glass of water – even a few sips will do it. You’re just dehydrated.
If you get foot cramps, walking on a cold floor for a minute will draw energy back down to your feet from your upper legs and helps the foot cramps go away. And again, drink water!
If you can’t stop eating sugar-laden food at 4 right now, start at an hour earlier than you usually stop eating at night. You can gradually ease back an hour at a time until you get to 4:00 pm. You’ll be so glad you did you’ll never want to go back.
If you really miss sugar, have 5 to 10 raisins after a meal, or you can have tea with a little Agave or Xylitol (natural plant-based sugar substitutes that has no Insulin Glycemic raising factors).
[WARNING – do not let your dog eat anything with Xylitol in it – it’s super toxic for doggies!]
The more you cut sugar completely out of your diet, the better for you it will be. So once you stop eating it after 4pm, continue until you simply don’t eat it at all.
You’ll find your weight balancing out, your dreams will improve, your strength will come back, and your body temperature stability will improve dramatically.
GO SLOWLY – AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
When I stopped eating sugar, it took me a month of eating 5 to 10 raisins after each of the main three meals of the day before I felt comfortable with cutting even those out, one meal at a time.
We eat sugar for more reasons than taste – they amp up our energy temporarily, it makes us feel excited and enthusiastic, it reminds us of good things we grew up with, and (for a short time) it takes hunger away.
Unfortunately, the energy rise is temporary, and we crash after a very short time, becoming irritable and anxious. You’ll notice that the quality of your thinking deteriorates. You want, but you don’t know what you want. So you eat more, crash more….
If you can stop the cycle by bearing just one hard week of no sugars after 4pm, your temper will even out, the “wanting-for-something” will ease off, you’ll actually start wanting “real” foods again, and your anxiety and irritability will decrease as well. You’ll even start to lose weight if needed, and your physical strength will increase – especially if you start walking for five to thirty minutes a day!
2. EAT MORE, WEIGH LESS
The secret: When you eat your evening meal, be sure to balance your carbohydrates and proteins. Eat them in very small amounts. Eat more often – like every two hours!
This works! In two months last year (starting out in November and over the holidays!), I dropped 10 pounds. I ate more than I ever have, walking every other day for 30 minutes, and the weight eased off me faster than I’d ever experienced before. I liked the regimen so much I still do it. It’s not at all a “diet” – it’s a way of consciously giving your body just what it needs, taking care of yourself to bring your health into high swing.
Eat ONLY 4 ounces of meat (or if you are a vegetarian, use nuts, tofu, tempe, or other non-meat protein), and ONLY 4 ounces of starch – like potato, sweet potato, yam, kumera, rice, oatmeal, etc. You can have a cup or more of vegetables with the proteins and carbs.
* The protein will help you feel full because of the natural fats within them
* The carb also help you feel full and comforted
* The natural sugars in the carbs that release over time feed your brain.
Here are a couple of examples:
4 oz roast or broiled chicken
4 oz sweet potato or yam
1 cup vegetables
4 oz hard cheese
half a big apple
The small portions of proteins and carbs seem small at first, but you’ll be surprised how full and satisfied you feel after this type of meal.
3. WHAT KIND OF WATER?
Contrary to what you might think, drink plenty of water all day right up to bedtime. We are all typically dehydrated, and don’t replenish the water we burn every day in our activities. Imagine driving your car with no water in its batteries – it won’t go! We are the same!
Even though you might think that to drink water before bedtime might make you want to get up to go to the bathroom, if you do not eat sugar after 4pm, you won’t. It may take as much as a week to get used to this, but you’ll swear by it from then on.
You may not like the taste of water. If you are a blood type O, this is more than likely. Here’s what I do: I mix half and half regular drinking water with a sparkling, bubbly water. The bubbly alone is too much for me, but I like the sharper taste of the mix. Sometimes I do one-third regular to two-thirds bubbly when I’ve eaten more fat than usual.
Stay away from juiced fruits, sodas (whether diet or not), and alcoholic beverages completely. They are way too processed and will drive your insulin levels way up and way back down again – crash! Sodas have so much sugar in them you might as well sit down with the sugar bowl and suck it up. Avoid most diet sodas since the majority of them have artificial sweeteners in them that are worse for you than sugar.
4. EAT FATS!
Cut out excess fats, but don’t cut them out completely. We do need fats for brain function. Use real butter rather than margarine; olive and flax seed oil work well. Eat avocados, too.
If you don’t get enough fats, your mind will tell you it wants bread or sugar.
If you don’t get enough water, your mind will tell you that you are hungry.
Secret: If you think you feel hungry and it’s only been an hour or an hour and a half since you ate, go for the water first, and you’ll be surprised how that “hunger” goes away! You’ll also get more mental clarity.
5. DEFUSING DIABETES
Eating the protein/carb way will help you fight your body’s tendency to diabetes. We actually do need a certain amount of sugars to feed the brain. BUT we do NOT need white sugars! We need sugars that release slowly into the body in the form of complex carbohydrates.
Avoid all white sugars. Period. Do it as soon as you can. You’ll want, eventually, to cut out white flour as well. Why? Because it makes your insulin levels rise and thus, increases your body’s tendency to gain weight because any sugar your body can’t metabolize right off goes into fat storage!
Once you start using the balanced protein/carb evening meals, do the same for your other meals. You’ll find your body responding well: you will lose weight if you are overweight, you will get stronger if you are underweight, your blood sugar levels will come back to normal, your sleep will improve and—no more nightmares. And no more getting up at night to pee!

These notes are a combo of a miniscule part of what I have learned from what I have learned over the years from working with folks, from having a human body, myself – what has worked for me, and why.
I watch carefully what I eat and how food affects my body, mind and emotions, and my ability to function in the world—do you?

Imagine this: you are a shy but very talented interior designer who doesn’t just make houses pretty, but who brings out the Heart of the House.
You have been asked to visit a battered women’s shelter to see if you can give them some ideas to cheer the place up.
Miracles for battered women!
Here’s the amazing part: you turned it into a major miracle – for the residents, the house itself, and yourself.
Join the amazing Terry Grahl and me as we pick through the amazing details. Do check out her site at TerrysEnchantedCottage.com –
The shelter is now one of the most delightful houses I have yet to see – it’s really hard to believe what she did with a beat-up, scruffy, sad, dark and depressing house!
Find out how she got the huge wall-to-wall mural upstairs (which would have ordinarily have cost her 3 arms and 4 legs if she had hired an artist to do it), how she raised over $200K for the project, and the unique way she uses her intuition!
Who’s your hero?
